He has been\nresponsible at Phillips Foods for leading the business through a period of\nsignificant global and market expansion, operating several high-volume\nrestaurants and driving club store growth, all while maintaining his mission of\nimplementing sustainable practices in the seafood industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brice Phillips has served on the\nExecutive Committee of the NFI Crab Council since 2017, helping to approve\ncouncil agendas and budgets, participating in council calls, and introducing\ncouncil policy. He sees his election as chairmanship to the NFI Crab Council as\na step in the right direction to continue conservation and sustainability\nefforts. \u201cI am honored to be elected to the chairmanship of the NFI Crab\nCouncil,\u201d Brice Phillips says. \u201cAs chairman, I will continue moving the blue\nswimming crab industry toward sustainability, driving the industry forward by\nimplementing fishery improvement programs and broadening the scope of\nsustainable fisheries and responsible aquaculture.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NFI Crab Council was formed in\n2009 and is comprised of representatives from a large majority of blue swimming\ncrab importers. Its primary goal is to ensure crab populations, the ecosystems\nthey depend on, and the communities that rely on the fisheries, remain viable\nnow and for generations to come. The Council\u2019s member companies each pledge\n$.02 per pound of crab meat sold into the U.S., and also initiate and sponsor\nFishery Improvement Projects in the crab producing countries of Indonesia, the\nPhilippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBrice Phillips has been a steward\nof institutional change in the fishery industry, and for the last year, he has\nhelped us move the needle at NFI Crab Council.
